A Daring Burglary.
Last Sunday morning about 11 o’clock two men walked in Mr. Henry Meier’s house and demanded his money, and to convince him they meant business one of them pulled a revolver and said if he made any noise it would cost him his life.  Mr. Meier, who has been quite sick for some time past, was helpless, his family all being at church and himself alone and too feeble to resist their demands. He told them where the money was that he had in the house. They then tied his hands and placed him in a closet and barred the door. They secured $33 in cash, and destroyed one of Mr. Meier’s account books. Their object in doing this cannot be explained. One of the men wore a mask and it is rumored that he is well known. No arrests have been made at present writing. Mr. Meier was considerably prostrated over the affair. It was nearly an hour and a half before it was known that burglars had entered the house, and during all this time he was left locked in the closet. Everything possible is being done to bring the guilty to justice.
